DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — Local school officials are warning parents of a possible online predator who’s been contacting students.
Officials with DuBois Area School District sent out a notice to parents this week regarding a Snapchat account called “Chrisrunstheroc,” that’s been contacting students in the DuBois Area School District and other local school districts requesting inappropriate information that’s sexual in nature.
“Some reports involve this individual posing as an incoming male student saying that he is transferring from Florida and will be enrolling as a new student promptly,” the notice to parents read. “Shortly after the friend request is accepted, the actor becomes aggressive in his messages and seeks inappropriate information, sexual in nature.”
Officials highly encourage parents and guardians to talk with their children about internet safety and making wise choices when communicating, and befriending people they don’t know on social media.
If you’ve experienced this incident or a similar incident, you’re asked to contact police.
