Authorities in Clearfield County say a Punxsutawney man has been sentenced to prison time after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage girl last year.

Officials say Hunter Vroman appeared in court this week where he was sentenced to serve 9 months to 5 years in state prison.

Vroman was arrested last summer following an investigation into accusations that he had sexually assaulted a teenager at a residence in Clearfield Borough.

Authorities say he later pleaded guilty to charges of statutory sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption on minors.

Prosecutors say Vroman was not deemed to be a sexually violent predator but he must register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.

Officials add that Vroman also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and other offenses in an unrelated case.
