Dozens in Altoona without power until Saturday night

Penelec/West Penn Power is now reporting that most customers affected will not have power restored until about 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Customers in the Frankstown Township area should expect power to be restored around 6:30 p.m. at the earliest.

UPDATE:

According to the outage map, hundreds of customers are still without power in Altoona and surrounding areas.

Power is now expected to be restored around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

According to Penelec/West Penn Power, over 2,000 customers are currently without power in the city of Altoona.

The outage map shows that others are also being affected in the general Logan Township and Allegheny Township areas.

It is unclear what caused the outages but estimated restoration of power is expected between 11:30 a.m. and noon Saturday.
